A new memorial to Cardinal Wolsey by sculptor David Annand was recently erected on Curson Plain at the corner of Silent Street opposite where Wolsey lived in his childhood. This memorial is a life-sized bronze statue of Cardinal Wolsey, shown seated facing south towards St Peter's Church (which Wolsey annexed as the chapel of his College of Ipswich), teaching from a book, with a cat at his side. It was unveiled in 2011.
