Suffolk’s landscape has been the inspiration for many from the composer Benjamin Britten to the author George Orwell. With such variety on offer from beautiful countryside, coastal views, and picturesque market towns, it’s not hard to see why. Why not shake off the post-Christmas blues and venture out into this beautiful and diverse countryside to explore the many hidden delights that can be found on your doorstep.

If it’s the coast you enjoy, why not take a trip to Landguard in Felixstowe and use the Discover Suffolk leaflet to guide you as you stroll along the shingle beach and see where ships landed during the last foreign invasion of our shores.

Or take a trip back in time with our circular route around Combs and Badley. You will find yourself immersed in the rural tranquillity of the Suffolk Countryside.

Perhaps exploring on foot isn’t for you and you would prefer to cycle, if so try one of our four ‘Rides’ leaflets, explore West Stow Country Park or experience the very different landscapes of the Brecks.

There is no doubt that nothing beats being outside, exploring all Suffolk has to offer in the crisp January weather, before ending your day at one of the many teashops with a hot chocolate and slice of cake.
