Holiday Activities boost children fitness
Research carried out last Summer by UKactive suggests that the school holidays can have a negative impact on children’s fitness levels.
 
Using new testing methods developed in conjunction with Premier Sport, the country's leading provider of sports provision in schools, children’s fitness levels were tested both before and after the summer holidays. The results showed that children were able to run a further 120m in July - before the summer break - than they could in the same test in September. This suggests that children’s fitness levels are being eroded during school holidays, and this is being blamed on increasingly sedentary lifestyles.
