Quiz makes Festival Fizz for local charity

POSTED ON: 18/12/2017

A Suffolk charity are hosting a unique round of quizzes at the Saints Winter Beer and Wine Festival this December, and invite groups of friends and businesses to enter a quiz team!

Anglia Care Trust (ACT) has partnered with Beer&Co to put on a Winter Festival that will have something for everyone in between Christmas and the New Year at St. Peter's By The Waterfront.

In addition to a selection of real ale and craft beers, Saints Winter Beer & Wine Festival will include a fabulous range of world wines, with tasting recommendations + a gorgeous selection of home-made cake for attendees to match with their tipple, while musical entertainment presented by GrapevineLIVE is provided during the evenings.

But the icing on the cake is the addition of afternoon quizzes to help raise funds for ACT, a multi-service Ipswich-based charity that provides support, advice and action to people in our community. Quizzes will take place at 1pm and 4pm on both days of the Festival, and teams are encouraged to register in advance for a discounted fee of £25 per team (maximum 6 people).

ACT’s Director Jane Simpson says: "We’re delighted to have been chosen by Beer & Co as their supported charity - and look forward to welcoming people to a whole host of fun with ‘quiz and cake’, raffles and the best in entertainment. This will really help to support our services that give people the stability and support they need to enable them to realise their full potential: helping people to keep a roof over their heads, helping people to stay safe and helping people to be heard.”

Greg Cooper from Beer & Co says: "Beer&Co are really pleased to be able to support the work of ACT. The afternoon quizzes are a great way for friends and colleagues to get involved too, and the addition of cake (with a little fizz!) will, I am sure, go down well on a wintery day. The evening music sessions include a Nonsuch DJ set on Friday and West End Music Open Mic on Saturday, which will also create a great atmosphere!"

The Festival opens from 12noon on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th December with £3 entry on the door for general visitors.
