Eastern Angles Theatre Company

Eastern Angles, the regional touring theatre company for the East of England.

The company has a national reputation for producing high-quality, new writing theatre with a regional flavour. Based at the Sir John Mills Theatre in Ipswich, the company has been touring professional theatre productions into the towns and villages of East Anglia since 1982. As well as touring across the East, Eastern Angles has performed at London’s Bush Theatre and at Edinburgh Fringe Festival on several occasions – most recently with their production of Chicken which played at Paines Plough’s Roundabout in 2015.

Its current annual programme includes: a new writing theatre tour to village and community halls in the Spring; Platform Peterborough in the Autumn; and a unique comic extravaganza in the Sir John Mills Theatre, Ipswich and Seckford Theatre, Woodbridge over the Christmas season. In between, Eastern Angles commission new plays, tour shows nationally, present new work by BME writers during Black History Month, and workshop new scripts.
