St Bartholomew stands guard over the double door entrance to this grand building. One of the finest churches of architect Charles Spooner, it was consecrated in 1895 but not finished until 1907. Superbly proportioned and ornately finished, the interior is surrounded by brick walls under a lofty roof with space for several alters and shrines.
